2011 Harbin Ice and Snow Festival was scheduled to open on January 5th 2010 in Harbin, the capital city of Heilongjiang province of China.

The 2011 Harbin Ice and Snow Festival will last for 42 days (starting from January 5 and ending on February 17th, the 15th day of the first Chinese lunar month). A series of ice sculptures and fireworks will be displayed on city squares, streets, airports and train stations for the event. It will also hold many winter sports competitions, such as snowboarding, winter swimming and curling etc. During the period, varies cultural events and group wedding event will be held.
